From the Chicago Tribune Newspaper

ALLEGAN, Mich. - The Allegan County Parks Commission plans to add more camping sites for horseback riders and their mounts as part of an expansion of the county's equestrian-trail system.

The county has a lease with the state to operate 57 miles of horse trails in the Allegan State Game Area.

The commission has approved a plan to create a campground for horse riders at Littlejohn Lake County Park.

It also wants to convert some sites for horse use at the existing Ely Lake and Pine Point campgrounds in the game area.

County parks director Kevin Ricco tells the Kalamazoo Gazette although Littlejohn has no camping now, a recently adopted master plan proposes to create campsites for horseback riders and connect the park to the trail system.
