dick and connie: thank-you for working so hard on HB 4610 and SB 578. the next generation will have a place to ride their horses because of all of Back Country Horsemen. I want to thank anyone else who I am sure worked countless hours and drove many miles to lansing meeting and town hall meeting. These are the ways we will be heard and all the e-mails that the equestrian sent to our Senator and House of represetative and Governor. This organization (BCH) has made history, for future equestrian. I know that when I get on my horse and ride a state forest that this trail or two track is only here because of people like dick and connie! I know that the fight is not over but I am starting to believe that we the people can really make a difference in a political world. i myself feel very strongly about our equestrian rights and I mean every piece of land is just as important but my special spot is pigeon river, so dick and connie, when the no horse signs come down and i know the BCH can do it. I cannot wait to be there! bless you BCH, this organization has done more for equestrian in a very short time, keep the faith!

Thank you Jackie for those kind words but, please remember this: This battle that we are waging to regain our trails and to preserve them is not about Dick and Connie! It is about our future generations. Your kids and our grandchildren and those that will follow us all many years from now-that's who this is all about. It's not just about the Pigeon either. It started there for us but we soon learned that it was happening all over.
There have been many people that need to be thanked as well....Norm and Sandy, our very good friends in the UP-for making that call to Gordon and Marieta and then they in turn called us...that's how we began and we have gained many along the way......You, Cindy, Norma, Larry and Judy,Tom, Virginia, Gabrielle, Bill and Gail, Connie, Deanna, John, Diane, Mike, Ron, Ingrid, George, Pat, Steph,Nan.... and all those who called or wrote letters that we don't know about!---so many that I am afraid of leaving someone out......But, this is what a true grassroots movement is and we have shown alot of nay sayers that people's voices do count-but sticking together thru think and thin is what makes the difference in winning and loosing. This is what Back Country of America told us from the beginning.....Who ever has the presistance and the perserverance to out last the opponent will win....(paraphrased) and that's exactly what we are all doing....staying truthful and focused and not wavering!
We haven't won this battle yet dear friends...we have a long road still....so let's not celebrate too early with this one. But, together we are making a difference-for all equestrians in this Great State of Michigan! Tomorrow is just another exciting day--remember to say a prayer that truth and justice will always prevail! Hope to see you all in Lansing...Connie
