Mike was thrown from a horse he was training and suffered a severe head injury.  He is at Sparrow Hospital near Lansing and is recovering slowly. His wife, Pat, is keeping us updated on Facebook. Look for "Mike JMS" to read her posts about Mike's recovery.

As of today, Wednesday, Aug 10, he is alert and asking for his glasses; however, he gets very dizzy when he sits up and still has the danger of blood clots in his brain. He is participating in physical therapy and regaining his memory.

email me if you want his address to send a card.  levalleyvista at earthlink .net

I would like to thank everyone at BCHMI  for all the cards, letters , visits and calls that I recieved after my riding accident on August 6th.  I am greatfull to be home and doing well.  I still have a problem hearing from my left ear, the taste in the left side of my mouth isn't right and my balance is off, but I am walking with a cane now instead of a walker.  The Dr says this is from the concussion, fracture and hemotoma in my old noggin that caused some nerve damage and inflammation.  So I have some pills to reduce the inflammation and in time it should help to clear up my other problems.  I am optomistic that it all will be better , just going to take some time to get there.  What is really bugging me is that I am missing camping and trail riding with my horses and friends.

thank you so much for your support and prayers.

Mike
