Pigeon RiverCamping registration

Starting this spring 2009, the group camp ground was to bereserved using the Event Application/Permit to Use State Land,PR1138.   This change reduced the permitfee from $75 to $50 but increased the minimum from 15 people to 20 people andrequired that the total camping fee ($6 per person times the nightsstayed) be paid 60 days in advance.

Currently the use of the Event Application and Permit process is being reviewed by the DNR and may not be found to be the most appropriate method for reserving group camp grounds.  Until a “final” procedure is determined the reservation of the Pigeon Rivergroup camp ground for this summer (or until new procedure is established) will be as follows:

Still require pre payment of $50.00 permit feeStill require a minimum of 20 to reserve the requested date(s)Cancellation for refunds can be made 30 days out.Require pre-payment 60 days out of the $6.00 per person (at least the minimum of 20) for one night when 2 or 3 camping days are requested and 2 nights when four nights are requested. (So for a minimum of 20 that would be $120.00 or $240.00). If the club has prepayment for more than 20 then that amount should be paid to the DNR 60 days out. When the actual camp date arrives and the person in charge of the campers comes to the DNR office to register, FULL payment needs to be made for the actual number of campers, times the nights staying. For example: If 20 were expected but only 13 show up to camp for two nights (26 camp nights, then an additional $36 is owed, since $120 has already been paid.   If all 20 show up for two nights (40 camp nights) then an additional $120 is owed.)   Because the full amount needs to be paid when the group registers, campers will still need to prepay their club the full amount ($6 times the number of nights they will be staying) by the time the group is scheduled to arrive at Pigeon River. For example, some may only stay two of the four nights (they prepay $12) while others will stay all four nights (they prepay $24).  A minimum of 20 people will need to prepay for at least one night 60 days out.
