Sept. 24 2012, a few individuals from Pigeon River and Beyond Backcountry Horsemen of Michigan had the honor of hosting the new DNR Director Keith Creagh. Director Creagh was treated to a trail ride in the Pigeon River Country State Forest (PRCSF) near Vanderbilt, Michigan. He witnessed firsthand the numerous berms and ?No Horses? allowed signs in the PRC.
After the ride, Director Creagh, Senators Tom Casperson and John Moolenaar, and Representatives Greg MacMaster and Joel Johnson, along with those who provided the horses, joined a fireside chat to discuss riding issues in the PRCSF and what possibilities were available that could increase tourism for Northern Michigan while showcasing the PRCSF in the PURE MICHIGAN ad campaign.
Blessings were given and a delicious meal was shared by all.
